Sofitel Amsterdam The Grand is located in the heart of Amsterdam, between two of Amsterdam’s most picturesque canals. As two former convents, Headquarter of the Dutch Admiralty during the “Golden Age” and as the former City Hall of Amsterdam, the hotel exposes an immensely rich history of the city.
The Grand features 177 luxury rooms of which 52 are suites. All the rooms
are furnished in a stylish contemporary way, equipped with the latest technology and elegantly embracing the traditional details of the historical building. The hotel's subtle magic is accentuated by the charming inner garden that offers an oasis of tranquility. Restaurant Bridges serves mainly fresh fish and organic vegetables. From Central Station you can take the following tram numbers: 4, 9, 16, 24 or 25. Get off at the first stop near Dam Square and walk from Dam Square heading east through the Damstraat. Cross the first bridge and turn right to Oudezijds Voorburgwal. Hotel The Grand is just a few metres ahead. You can also board the subway and disembark at the Nieuwmarkt. Take the exit marked Hoogstraat, head west and turn left on the third bridge. Hotel The Grand is at number 197.

The Raw Bar is all about fish! Offering a variety of raw cut seafood such as oysters, fish tartars, carpaccios, seafood platters and exclusive caviar. Dedicated chefs will prepare the dishes at the bar creating a lively interaction with the guests.

Bridges Bar is the lively centre of the hotel and city, serving cocktails and fantastic bites such as oysters, lobster sandwiches and wine flights paired with bites. The private room is regularly used by our in-house VIP's, creating an exciting buzz.

The 17 fully equipped Banqueting and Conference rooms, some of which are listed as historic monuments, provide the ultimate venue for meetings or conferences in Amsterdam. All rooms have natural daylight and are equipped
with the latest technical facilities. Today, one of our most famous meeting rooms for banquets and conferences is the Council Chamber. In 1966, when the building was the City Hall of Amsterdam, H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands welcomed guests here for her wedding.
